The Marion County Sheriff’s Office comprises approximately 1,000 sworn law enforcement officers and numerous support, non-sworn positions. The Sheriff’s Office is headquartered in Ocala, Fl, and is the largest law enforcement agency in the region. Most of the activity in the county centers around the city of Ocala and Interstate 75, but also the smaller towns of Dunnellon and Silver Springs. Marion County is located in central Florida. The closest large city is Orlando, which is about an hour south of Ocala.
