Two Richland County Sheriff’s Department K9 handlers, Kory Mayo and Isaac Page, were arrested Wednesday for stealing and selling K9 equipment online while on duty. Sheriff Leon Lott announced that both men were charged with misconduct in office, facing up to 10 years in jail.

The scheme was uncovered when an investigator noticed department equipment being sold online. An undercover operation revealed the suspects were conducting sales from the department’s parking lot using patrol vehicles while on duty. The stolen items, worth less than $10,000, included gun vaults, muzzles, leashes, and other K9 equipment. The thefts had been occurring since February 2024.

Both Mayo and Page were featured in multiple episodes of On Patrol: Live during Season 1.

The arrests come at a particularly sensitive time, as the department recently lost two K9s in the line of duty in 2024. Mayo and Page, who worked the same shift and had been with the department for three and four years, respectively, were fired last week. Sheriff Lott emphasized these were isolated cases among the department’s 900 employees and commended the investigator who discovered the theft.

Both suspects were booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
