Early Life & Education
Lawrence Billy Jones III was born on December 10, 1992, in Garland, Texas. He graduated from Garland High School in 2011 and went on to study political science and criminal justice at the University of North Texas. From an early age, Jones demonstrated a deep commitment to civic engagement — he was elected youth mayor of Garland in 2008 and was later appointed as a junior senator in the state legislature by Texas Governor Rick Perry.
Jones became the youngest employee at the Garland Independent School District, where he served as a student advocate. He also served as a board member for Dallas County Child Protective Services and as a community representative on the Garland Parks and Recreation Board.
Early Career & Media Rise
Jones began building his media career in 2013, working as an investigative journalist and playing a pivotal role in exposing corruption in the Affordable Care Act marketplace. He gained national attention in 2015 after organizing a fundraiser for an Indiana pizza shop that had faced public backlash, ultimately raising $844,000 for the family. He went on to host The Lawrence Jones Show on TheBlaze Radio Network and, in February 2018, became editor-in-chief of the conservative website Campus Reform.
Fox News Career
Jones joined Fox News Media in 2018 and quickly became known for his signature storytelling and “man-on-the-street” segments, spotlighting the impact of various issues on local communities. He served as a regular host for the nightly Fox News Primetime throughout 2021 and launched his own program, Lawrence Jones Cross Country, in January 2022.
In September 2023, Jones was promoted to co-host of Fox & Friends, the network’s flagship weekday morning program, making him the youngest Black solo host of a cable news program. He continues to serve in that role today. Outside of his media career, Jones is passionate about Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which he has documented on his social media pages.
