Driver Flees After Kidnapping Woman and Baby

A man was arrested after allegedly fleeing from Richland County deputies. Authorities said a woman texted the police, claiming she and her baby were being held against their will in the suspect’s car. The victims were rescued after Deputy John O’Shaughnessy and Master Deputy Rebekah Smith pursued the suspect in a lengthy chase until it ended in a parking lot and the suspect was apprehended.
