Master Deputy Rebekah Smith is an officer with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in South Carolina. Deputy Smith was first featured in On Patrol: Live during the 09.23.22 episode in Season 1.
Fentanyl Exposure
In July 2022, Deputy Smith was patrolling when she saw a “suspicious person,” according to a Richland County Sheriff’s Department press release. While patting down the 32-year-old man, Smith, who was wearing gloves at the time, began feeling strange. When asked if he had drugs, the man admitted to using fentanyl within the last hour. Smith fell unconscious after receiving several doses of Narcan from other deputies, according to the sheriff’s department. She later made a full recovery from the exposure.
