Lieutenant Steven Tapler is a deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina. Steven Tapler has been featured on Live PD off and on throughout its entire run. Tapler was the officer involved in the infamous scene from Season 1 where a handcuffed suspect took off running and dove headfirst through a motel window. During the 07.28.17 and 07.29.17 episodes, he was featured in the studio with Dan and Tom. In December of 2019, he was promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant.
