Officer Shade Keeney is a patrol officer with the Toledo Police Department in Ohio. Officer Keeney joined the Toledo Police Department in 2013. Officer Keeney has received multiple awards for his exceptional service during 11 years on the force. Officer Keeney is a native of McComb, Ohio. He worked in factories before joining the United States Marine Corps. After completing his military service, he enrolled at Owens Community College and completed the Owens Police Academy. “I wanted something that was close to being in the military – having the comradery,” he said. “Plus you get to do all the fun stuff … except no one ever tells you about all the paperwork.”
Officer Keeney works in field operations. He is a field training officer, mountain bike patrol certified, a Mobile Field Force and Honor Guard member, rifle trained, and a certified instructor through the Ohio Peace Office Training Commission. Officer Keeney said he is interested in seeking a promotion to sergeant and hopes to become more involved in the training and development of academy cadets.
In his time away from work, Officer Keeney plays on the Toledo Police Department softball team (No. 19 if you happen to catch a game), and spends time working in his yard and playing with Justice, his Cane Corso.
Officer Keeney first appeared with On Patrol: Live during Season 2 on episode 08.18.23.
