Authorities say an apparent theft incident escalated into a high-speed chase with three suspects that resulted in collisions and gunfire on August 1 in Oklahoma. The Sand Springs Police Department said the chase began when officers responded to a theft call at a Tractor supply store. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol engaged when the chase continued onto a state highway. Pursuing officers performed a tactical vehicle intervention causing the suspect’s vehicle to spin out. An officer fired a shot at the suspect’s vehicle when the driver allegedly crashed into another officer’s vehicle in an attempt to get away. Police say the suspects escaped and later hid in the woods after abandoning their vehicle. Authorities say the three suspects were later arrested after being identified by local reporters.
