Deputy Mackenzie Green is a road patrol deputy with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, currently assigned to night shifts in the 5th Precinct. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Deputy Green earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Cincinnati before relocating to Florida in 2020, where she began working for the Department of Children and Families (DCF) in Fort Myers. During her three years with DCF, she worked closely with local law enforcement agencies, including LCSO deputies, which inspired her to pursue a career in law enforcement.
With encouragement from Lee County deputies, Green applied to LCSO and earned sponsorship through the academy. Her academy class, originally scheduled to begin shortly after Hurricane Ian struck Southwest Florida in September 2022, was delayed until August 2023. She graduated from the academy in February 2024 and began her career with initial training in the 5th Precinct before transitioning to night road patrol in the 2nd Precinct. She has since returned to the 5th Precinct, where she continues to serve on night patrol.
In September 2025, Deputy Green was recognized for her role in locating an 87-year-old missing man. Using a combination of license plate reader technology and keen observation, she spotted the man’s vehicle at a gas station parking lot, enabling deputies to safely reunite him with his family.
Deputy Green holds a master’s degree in Cybersecurity from the University of West Florida, completed in August 2025, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Homeland Security through Liberty University. She aspires to eventually serve as a detective in LCSO’s Violent Crimes Unit, where she believes her extensive background in child and family welfare would be a strong asset.
Deputy Green and her husband, Jason, an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration at Southwest Florida International Airport, became engaged in front of the Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy, in October 2024 and were married on the Greek island of Santorini in July 2025.
