Deputy Carl Scharpf

Sergeant Carl Scharpf is a Patrol Sergeant with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office in Springfield, Missouri, where he has served since July 2014. With over 11 years at the agency, Scharpf has risen through the ranks from Deputy to Corporal to Sergeant, taking on responsibilities including patrol supervision and oversight of the office’s drone program. In that capacity, he has utilized drone technology equipped with heat-tracking cameras, paired with K9 units, to support search-and-rescue operations, missing-persons cases, and suspect apprehension.

Scharpf holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Political Science from Missouri State University. He gained national exposure through his appearances on Live PD and Live PD: Police Patrol, where he was featured across 16 episodes during the 2018–2019 seasons, helping showcase the work of Greene County deputies to a nationwide audience. He also serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
