Tom Morris Jr. is an American television host and producer whose career has been built almost entirely around law enforcement and public-safety programming, from network true-crime to live patrol coverage.
Early Career
Morris began behind the scenes in television production, working as an audio technician, camera operator, and field producer. He also served for a time as an antiterrorism contractor for the U.S. State Department before returning to broadcast media full-time.
In 1993, he joined America’s Most Wanted as a producer. After three years on the show, its executive producer assigned him to cover a murder case as an on-air correspondent — a role he continued through 2011. His AMW work established him as a recognizable face in true-crime and fugitive-recovery television.
Live PD
In 2016, Morris was hired as one of the original co-hosts of Live PD, providing in-studio analysis alongside anchor Dan Abrams and analyst Sgt. Sean “Sticks” Larkin. The program became the most successful show in A&E’s history, running from 2016 to 2020.
His background carried directly into the show’s format: Live PD regularly featured a “Wanted” segment beginning in its first season, and during season two Morris worked with former AMW colleague Angeline Hartmann and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to produce a recurring “Missing” segment.
Other Television & Media
Beyond Live PD, Morris’s television work includes A&E’s Wanted and Fugitives Caught on Tape, along with appearances on CNN, Discovery ID, and Oxygen. He also hosts the PD Stories podcast, in which law enforcement professionals share firsthand accounts of their careers and experiences in policing.
On Patrol: Live
After sitting out the initial launch of On Patrol: Live — the Reelz successor to Live PD — due to a conflicting hosting commitment, Morris later rejoined the program, reuniting the original studio trio of Abrams, Larkin, and himself for the live nightly patrol series.
