Chief Daniel Hahn

Chief Daniel Hahn is a retired police chief who made history as the first Black chief of police in both Roseville and Sacramento, California. Hahn had a 34-year career in law enforcement that began in 1987 when he was hired as a Community Service Officer with the Sacramento Police Department. He rose through the ranks, serving in numerous roles, including Public Information Officer, High School Criminal Justice Academy Coordinator, Watch Commander, Special Investigations Commander, Patrol Commander, and Personnel Division Commander, eventually reaching the rank of Captain.

Hahn received a 2023 Distinguished Service Award from the Sacramento State Alumni Association, among many other honors throughout his career including the inaugural Heart Award from Impact Sac and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Wiley W. Manuel Bar Association.

His tenure as police chief, particularly in Sacramento, included navigating challenging times including protests and community tensions around policing issues. He was known for his focus on community policing and open dialogue with community partners throughout his career.

Hahn was a Guest Host during Season 4 in episodes 08.08.25 and 08.09.25.
