McDonald County Sheriff’s Office

The McDonald County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency serving McDonald County, Missouri, a southwestern Missouri county located near the Arkansas border. The office operates with a mission to enforce the law, preserve peace, and maintain good order in McDonald County while providing a safe and secure environment for residents, workers, and students in the community. McDonald County covers 540 square miles in southwestern Missouri and borders Newton County to the north, Barry County to the east, Benton County, Arkansas to the south, and Delaware and Ottawa counties in Oklahoma to the west. The McDonald County Sheriff’s Office is located in Pineville, MO.

The office is currently led by Sheriff Robert Evenson, who is serving his fourth term as sheriff after being reelected. Sheriff Evenson previously worked as a detective and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration from Missouri Southern State University.

The office employs both full-time deputies and reserve deputies, with many municipal officers also serving as reserves. McDonald County 911, which works closely with the sheriff’s office, handles approximately 60,000 calls per year with a dispatch team of 14 full-time dispatchers working 12-hour shifts.
