The Bradford Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for the city of Bradford, a small community in northern White County, Arkansas, roughly midway between Searcy and Newport along the U.S. 67/167 corridor. Bradford recorded a population of 678 at the 2020 census, with a 2025 estimate of about 684 residents across a land area of less than one square mile. The city operates under a mayor–council form of government, with seven city council members and Mayor Dennis Whitener; the police department falls under that municipal structure.
The department operates from city facilities at 308 W. Walnut Street, Bradford, AR 72020. It is classified as a local police agency with a sworn complement of roughly two officers serving a population of approximately 800, and lists search and rescue among its specialized capabilities. Federal LEOKA reporting has placed the agency at three officers, an officer-per-capita rate higher than that of most Arkansas departments serving communities of similar size — a reflection of the small denominator rather than unusual staffing depth. The department also administers the Bradford City Jail, a temporary holding facility at the same Walnut Street address used to house detainees pending bond, transfer to the White County Detention Center, or court appearance.
As a two-to-three officer agency, Bradford PD handles routine patrol, traffic enforcement, calls for service, and initial response within the city limits, and depends heavily on mutual aid.
